Ponder is "partially wet" with alcohol sales, which only allows beer and wine to be sold for off-premise consumption.  This restriction limits restaurants from serving mixed drinks.  Voting for Ponder to be "fully wet" helps promote strong growth opportunities for our business community. It creates a better environment for small business owners, while recapturing tax dollars that are currently spent in neighboring "wet" communities.

The Ponder Chamber of Commerce is collecting petition signatures for a local option election.  This petition requires 2/3 of registered voters in Ponder to approve of the petition, allowing the matter to be put to a community vote.  If you are a resident living inside the Town of Ponder limits and registered to vote here, we want you!

Come stop by our office and sign the petition.   The Ponder Chamber of Commerce offices are located at 100 West FM 2449, at the corner of FM 156 and FM 2449, inside the Major League Realty business suites.  Stop in during normal business hours and ask for Taylar or Cathy!

Local option elections are authorized for the General Elections, held in May and November of each year.  Look for this option on the May 3, 2025 ballot and vote "YES" to support economic growth in Ponder, Texas!
